Dr Jenny Cuthill was appointed to a post as consultant in anaesthetics and intensive care medicine at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital in 2009. A large part of her job involves caring for survivors of both in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
Dr Cuthill’s audit and research interests include assessing changes to the quality of life and healthcare utilisation of these patients following hospital discharge. Dr Cuthill has been an Advanced Life Support Instructor for more than 20 years, and also taught on Basic Life Support courses. In addition to this, she was medical team lead for Triathlon at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014, and currently teaches emergency football medicine, including resuscitation skills, with SportPromote. Her team have now disseminated this course worldwide, in association with the Scottish Football Association, UEFA and FIFA.
